I didn't have much time for a great 365. Got home from work a little after 11, so I just grabbed my camera and put it on the edge of my bed and put the timer on, after shooting 3 images I took them into photoshop and had some fun. I played with layers and colors until I had the effect I wanted.

So I am still working on my ideas for my entry in the FLARE competition. This is one that I am not going to use for it, but loved it still. I took 50 photos, moving the lights around, changing my pose, but the lighting on this one I love, just not as much as I love a few others. I find this image tells a story to me. I am sure it will tell different stories to others. The story I see is a love story, where she is waiting for her love. Let me know what you see.

Easter Sunday....Day 71-365

71-365
Originally uploaded by Olivia Williams Photography
Well my Easter was an interesting one. I woke up at 8 something to kids screaming "The Easter Bunny was here". My husband and I then watched our 3 kids look into their Easter Baskets, followed by them running around the house looking for Easter Eggs filled with coins. After lunch I had to head off to work at my part time job, because I forgot to ask off. Then when I came home I realized i never took my photo for the day. The only thing left out that said Easter was here was one little Easter Basket. So I took that basket and grabbed my camera for a picture of me pretending to look for Easter Eggs.

I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend.

day 70-365, almost time for Easter...

70-365
Originally uploaded by Olivia Williams Photography
My kids reminded me this morning that I haven't gone up in the attic to get the Easter baskets. So I took the back hurting trip in the attic. You have to be only 3 feet tall to walk around in there. There are spots where I can stand but I have to duck below each beam first. By the time I got to the Easter box and back down out of the attic I was tired. I think next time I will take my son's skate board up there and just wheel my self from one spot to the other.

day 69-365, spent 3 hours drawing....loved it.

69-365
Originally uploaded by Olivia Williams Photography
For those who really know me well, you know how much I enjoy drawing. It is my first love. From way back when I was in the 5th grade drawing all the Disney characters for everyone, then there was my 8th grade year where I quit the band to join art class, followed by my 4 years of high school lugging around my huge cow print art folder from class to class, then finally my 2 years at the Art Institute where I kept an art journal that I drew in at least 5 times a day. If I just had an extra an hour or two a day I would sit and draw everyday, but being a Mother to 3 kids makes it hard to even get 30 minutes a day to draw. So sadly drawing is something that is often pushed back for another day. Today was that day for me. I did 4 loads of laundry the day before and ignored any house work that needed to be done, just so I could get an hour in of drawing. I sat down with my ipod, my project and a glass of water. I only stopped 3 times to be a referee in some of my kids arguments. By the time I looked at the clock 3 hours had passed. When I cleaned up I felt refreshed, like I did when my husband and I went away for the first time to the Dominican Republic. Amazing what art can do.

day 68-365, some days you just don't want your picture taken

day 67-365, long night at chili's no creative juices left...

The camera went off and there was my 365 photo of the day...I used LR and adjusted the saturation then added a texture just so it wasn't too dull.

day 66-365 child's eye view

66-365

I want to see the world the way you'd imagine a child does, whether that means the context in which something is taken or the perspective itself. Crawl around on your knees, in your house, or in the yard, you might just find a subject or a unique perspective that you wouldn't have had you been walking around as usual!

So I took my camera and put it so it was at about the spot and angle that a crawling baby's face would be. I am reaching out to the camera like it was one of my crawling children.

day 65-365...inspirations from the Fray...

Lost and insecure, your found me, you found me
lying on the floor surrounded, surrounded
why'd you have to wait? where were you? where were you?
Just a little late, you found me, you found me!

day 62-365...me

Have you ever stopped and really looked at yourself. Not in the critical way, but just looked at yourself. Not your flaws, but things that make you who you are. For me, I sat and thought what makes me, look like me. Then I remembered this drawing my husband and I had done of us while on vacation in Mexico. The guy did a great job, it looked just like my husband, but something just wasn't right with the way I was in the drawing. He didn't draw any of my thousands of freckles. I looked like a complete stranger. My husband even made a comment how if anyone else saw this they would wonder who the hot girl was in the drawing with him. It looked like me but it didn't look 100% like me because of the one thing that stands out about me. My freckles. I once hated all my freckles, thought I had too many, but now I don't hate them. I like them, they make me, me.

day 61-365, knitting my life away....

day 59-365, my never ending battle with laundry...

I have this small room that I am in everyday. I go in there, load our towels into the washer, push the button, leave the room. A strange buzz goes off a short while later, I go back in the room, put towels from washer into the dryer, hit the button on dryer, then fill the washer again this time with kids clothing, I hit the button and leave the room. A short while later the sound calls me again, like it is now one of the names I answer to. I go in the small room again, Pull out the stuff out of the dryer, drop it into a basket. Then continue to repeat my steps again. Push the buttons on both the washer and dryer and leave the room. Now this time I take with me the basket of towels. I sit down on my bed and fold the towels, some of the towels go into the basket again, others get put away in my bathroom. I then walk the basket of towels across the house and into the kids bathroom and put them away. Then not even 20 minutes later, buzzzzzz. I am called upon again. Finally after 3 or 4 loads of laundry I give up and stop for the day.
