Day 168-365
I just got home from work and went over to sit in my favorite spot only to see my boy sitting in front of my seat. I saw the great soft light on his face and had to use it for my 365. Let me just say he didn't want his photo taken. Why do I have such a hard time getting my kids to let me take their picture.

lighting fun for me....day 167-365

I wanted to work on my lighting some more for dramatic lighting fun. For this photo I set the light slightly behind me (me as the model not the photographer) and pointed towards me (the model again) so no light spills on the black background.

day 166-365, looking at the lake...
I wanted to take some photos of my kids at the lake, but they didn't want any part of it and I didn't feel like chasing them around to get a few photos. While I was there i figured I would snap one of me for my 365. Looking at the lake now and remembering what it was just a few years ago is mind blowing. It is amazing how the lake has slowly shrunk down to almost nothing. I have never step in this lake but I would guess it was once ankle deep where I stand.

Just me, my daughter and tink. We waited 30 minutes to meet Tinkerbell, and she loved every second once we got into the room, they did it up so nice.

I went to Disney's Hollywood Studios on my birthday with 2 of my kids. My daughter didn't want to be in the picture so she stood near the video camera while I took this picture. We had a blast that day.

driving home....day 160-365
Sitting at the first red light after leaving work. I thought that it would be fun to photograph me driving. So while sitting there I set my camera settings then put the camera on my dash board. I waited until I was the only one on the road and hit the shutter button. The timer went off and this is what I got. I think it is interesting. Not really what I wanted bu tit works.

I wanted to play around with hair and outfits to see if I could come up with a fun one for the theme. I don't have much that looks like it could be from the 20s-40s, this dress was close enough.

forest goddess, day 156-365
The Forest Goddess! My idea was to make it look like she can become a tree when she wants to and then turn to human when ever she is needed to protect the forest.
This one took a little bit of time to create in photoshop, but it was fun for me. I love to create strange photos with the help of my friendly photoshop. I started with just off white pants and off white material wrapped around as a top. I attached fake leafs all over my top, down one leg and in my hair. Visit my flickr to see the before photo.
I am working on a how-to for the hideout on this one. It is going to take me a few weeks, I am not good at explaining my madness but with a little help (hint hint hideout admin) it should be easy to understand. So to the lovely hideout admin ladies I will be sending you a copy of the how-to for you to look at to see if it is easy to understand or if I lost you in my madness.

20s-40s theme from hideout again...day 153-365
Since I didn't have any creative ideas I figured I would just go with the hideout theme for this month again. They help me out so much with ideas for this project. Whenever I am stuck I can always use the monthly theme to help get something creative.

Hideout July theme still.....day 151-365
Still working with the hideout monthly theme of 20's-40's style photos here. On this photo I used Michelle Black's PS action called Soft Bleach-Out Glaze. I adjusted it slightly to get the effect I wanted. With her PS actions she has layers for you to mess with. This one has 4 adjustment layers. Detail Contrast, Adjust Contrast, Soften/Brighten and Desaturate. I turned off the Adjust contrast layer, because I liked how it looked without that effect. Then I removed some of the detail contrast layer making it so most of the contrast was on the beads and not my skin. I then moved the desaturate opacity up just a bit and then on the layer mask for desaturate I made it so the beads had more color than the rest of the photo.

Why I wasn't creative today....day 150-365
OK OK....I have been sucked into the twilight saga world. I get so sucked in that once I start I can't stop reading it. My only breaks from the book was to feed my kids, clean, and do some house work (well I read the book while folding laundry and cooking). Finished it in 2 days. lol. I am such a dork sometimes.

hideout themes.....day 149-365
I love the photography forum that I belong to www.thehideoutforum.com , they have such great themes to play with and everyone is always helpful when you need it. The theme for July is 1920s, 1930s and 1940s style photos. I gave it a go and it was fun. I have a lot of photos on my flickr (just click the photo and it will take you to them). I will be working on more of these photos this month. So look out for them.

Worked a double on day 148, so I didn't have time to take anything too fun. Just stood in front of my closet door and snapped a few photos of the camera in my hand. Added a texture and popped the colors a bit.

day 147-365, Twilight inspired lighting....
so the lighting on the cover of the twilight movie has me. I love the dramatic mysterious feeling it gave off. So I wanted to give it a go. It took a few times for me to get the front lighting right, first I had it too bright then it wasn't bright enough, but I soon got it right. I love the feel I get from this one.

one light set up fun ...... day 146-365
I love, love, love playing with lights. You could stand in the same pose and move the light around and get so many different feelings from the one pose. With this photo, I tried 3 different spots for the one light. I liked the feel this one had.

rays of light...day 145-365
I wanted to work on something new for me. Creating rays of light in Photoshop. They didn't turn out the way I wanted, but not bad for first try. I think next try I will go outside in the trees for then try to create them. They don't look real to me in the room. Not sure really how to make them but I will figure it out.
